Beach Trip Packing Guide
What to pack for a beach day
Heading to the Gulf Coast? The water is warm, the sun is stronger than it looks, and downtown St. Pete is a short hop from the sand. Here is what a local would pack, and what you can grab from us if you forgot it.
The essentials
- Two swimsuits, so one can dry while you wear the other
- A cover-up or coastal dress for lunch and the walk back
- A sun shirt or rash guard for long days in the water
- A wide-brim hat and polarized sunglasses
- Reef-safe sunscreen, SPF 30 or higher (we stock Sun Bum)
- Sandals you can walk in and get wet
- A quick-dry beach towel and a roomy tote
- A refillable water bottle
For a boat or sandbar day
- Sun shirt
- Hat with a chin strap
- Polarized sunglasses
- Extra sunscreen and an SPF lip balm
